# Save a link

> Paste an address and open the article in the reader.

Choose **Save a URL** in the sidebar.

    The URL field is required unless you are saving a file instead. Use a full address, including `https://`.

  <Step title="Add a title or a note">
    Both are optional. A title you type replaces a noisy headline from the page. The original address stays on the article, so you can open the source later.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save">
    Choose Save. The article opens in the reader and stays in Inbox until you mark it read.
  </Step>

You can also drop a link onto the app.
