# Chrome extension

> The extension is not available yet. Prepare the key it will use.

The Chrome extension is not available yet. When it is released, it will save the page you are on, a sentence you select, or a screenshot, and send that into your library.

Until then, save from the app with [a link](/save/link), [a file](/save/file), [email](/save/email), or [a feed](/save/feeds).

## The key the extension will use

The extension signs in to your library with an API key.

  <Step title="Open API settings">
    Open Settings, then API.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Create a key">
    Choose **Create key** if you do not have one. The key is shown once. Choose Copy key and store it somewhere you can find it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Refresh a key">
    Choose **Refresh key** to replace the current key. The previous key stops working. The new key is shown once.
  </Step>

The API page shows when the current key was created and when it was last used. It does not show the key again after you leave the page.

  Refreshing a key replaces the previous one. Anything still using the old key will need the new key.
