# Type and focus

> Set the type, hide the chrome, and switch between light and dark.

The reader remembers your type settings on this browser.

## Type

Choose **Aa** in the reader.

* Serif, Sans, or Mono sets the font.
* A- and A+ set a smaller or larger size.
* Narrow and Wide set the measure of the column.
* Tight and Loose set the line spacing.

Images do not use these type controls.

## Focus

Choose **Focus**, or press Space, to hide the surrounding chrome and leave the column. Choose Exit, or press Space or Escape, to come back.

## Light and dark

Open Profile at the bottom of the sidebar. The sun or moon control switches between light mode and dark mode. Its label is Switch to dark mode, or Switch to light mode, depending on the current theme.
