# Search and sort

> Search titles, notes, site names, and saved text, then sort the list.

Each of Inbox, Library, and Archive has its own search field. The placeholder is Search articles. Press `/` to focus it.

Search looks through the title, your note, the site name, and the saved text. It uses English word search. If the query cannot be read, try fewer special characters.

Inbox search stays inside unread articles. Library and Archive search the articles in that place.

## Read filter

Above the list, choose All, Unread, or Read. Inbox is already unread articles, so Unread there matches the whole inbox.

## Sort

The sort menu has three orders:

* Newest
* Oldest
* Reading progress

The choice is remembered in this browser.

## When nothing matches

If a search or filter hides every article, the list says no articles match. Try another word, or clear the read filter and the label.

Empty lists without a search say something different:

* Inbox: nothing is unread.
* Library: nothing is saved yet.
* Archive: the archive is empty.
